Paula and Fiona,
Many thanks to you both for confirming receipt of the email I sent to you
yesterday.
That has helped me a lot.

Changing the subject: After you left yesterday, I felt I made a mess out of
trying to outline my situation regarding Daisy Hill Hospital Consultant Dr Mark
McCauley. Consequently, I am now forwarding a copy of an email I sent to Biggy
Hofmann (PIPS psychotherapist) on January 20th 2016, which I think is
self-explanatory (more or less), and hopefully easier for you to understand than
my very clumsy attempt of yesterday. Please see "forwarded" copy of email to Biggy
Hoffman below.
As I think I mentioned to you yesterday, the impression I have (so far) of Dr
McCauley is that he really is, in all probability, a very decent, and very
capable, "kind uncle" type of person. Unfortunately however, I also have a "gut
feeling" that he might not be the person who is making the "FINAL" decisions
about the medical treatment I am being provided with by Daisy Hill Hospital;
and, it was that same "gut feeling" that triggered -- I strongly suspect -- the
bad bout of suicidal depression I was going through when you both called on
January 12th 2016. The basic problem, which I still don't understand, is why was
I left so "high and dry" as far as practical help from anybody at Daisy Hill
Hospital was concerned, when I tried to make it as clear as I possibly could to
Dr McCauley that I felt desperately in need (at the time, on January 7th 2016)
of the services of a therapist who specialised in the treatment of Complex-Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD)? Dr McCauley did offer me "brain drugs" on January 7th, but
they tend to worry the life out me because of the terrible problems I have had
in the past with alcoholism (up to the mid 1970s), and consequently I informed
him, that while not ruling out the possibility of I taking prescribed
"psychiatric medication" at some later date, I would prefer to try and avoid
such treatment if at all possible.
Anyway, and for the time being at least, PIPS have come to the rescue; and, the
way you arranged for that to happen is, and always will be, very much
appreciated by me.

Changing the subject again: I received an acknowledgement of receipt from the
PSNI which I think might be important, and which I also forgot to mention to you
yesterday (I think), The PSNI acknowledgement can be viewed at:
http://www.humanrightsireland.com/NewryPSNI/19January2016/Email.pdf
If you have the time, I believe it might be helpful if you could take a quick look at
the contents of the PSNI email at the www address just above.
Also, if interested, there is a copy of the original email, which was primarily
addressed to "McGuigan and Malone Solicitors", which is the email (referred to
above) that the PSNI were acknowledging, at:
http://www.humanrightsireland.com/McGuiganAndMalone-LawFirm/18January2016/Email.html
So far, and although I phoned them on a number of occasions, there is not as much as a "peep" out of "McGuigan and Malone Solicitors"
regarding any of the legal issues I have been trying to get legal advice on
(from them) since November 5th 2015: which is another source of deep concern for
me.

I will call at the Housing Executive office on Monday at 11 am (as
arranged).
Kind regards, and thanks again for all your help to date.
Billy (Finnerty).

Subject: Yesterday's meeting
To: Biggy <
biggi@pipsnewryandmourne.org>
Biggi,
Thank you for your help yesterday.
After leaving you, I went to Meadowlands Surgery (Newry) at around 2 pm and the receptionist arranged for me to see Dr John Radcliffe GP
straight away. (Like Dr Torney GP, Dr Radcliffe is one of the partners at the
Meadowlands Surgery.)
Dr Radcliffe seemed very helpful and thorough, and he confirmed that Consultant
Psychiatrist Dr Mark McCauley (at Daisy Hill Hospital) has been in contact with
Meadowlands Surgery in connection with the partly completed assessment of my
mental health situation which he is working on. As I might have mentioned to you
yesterday, Dr McCauley explained to me (on January 7th 2016) that as certain
aspects of my case are outside the normal run of things from his personal
viewpoint, he expressed the wish for a second opinion, which I agreed to.
Consequently, it is my understanding that Dr McCauley will arrange for
Consultant Clinical Psychologist Dr Elizabeth McMonagle (Daisy Hill Hospital) to
provide him with this second opinion. Although I do not yet have a definite date, the
impression I got is that my appointment with Dr McMonagle will likely be set for sometime around the middle of
February 2016.
Following some physical tests, Dr Radcliffe also arranged for me to have a
series of blood tests yesterday afternoon, and I understand the results will be
available on Tuesday, January 26th 2016.
Unless I hear from you in the meantime, I will attend the appointment you
provisionally arranged for me yesterday for the purpose of meeting Jenny at 12
noon on Monday, January 25th 2016.
Kind regards,
William (Finnerty).
