RE: HERITAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, AND PERSONAL "LEGAL AND MEDICAL" ISSUES IN IRELAND

"For much of life on earth, NATURE transmits an important signal on, or very close to, December 21st of each year. This is the day of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.

"It is on this day that nature's annual cycle of degeneration and death in the plant world very gently, and almost imperceptibly, switches large portions of its energies to those of the opposite process: regeneration, and the creation of new life.

"Though it is just one of nature's many cyclic events, which are possibly infinite in number, and in levels of complexity, the 'negative peak' of The Winter Solstice is the particular one which appears to have most attracted the attention of human beings in ancient times. As is briefly described further down this page, people in Ireland had already discovered a means of accurately detecting this very important 'turning-point' on the dip (of reducing daylight time) by around 3,100 BC; and, provided the sky is free of cloud at the critical time of approximately 8.45 am (local time), the large stone arrangement they constructed for doing so, at Newgrange, County Meath, in the Republic of Ireland, still functions accurately to this day. This very practical and useful device -- which is also understood to have possibly been powerfully symbolic of the Celtic Sun God Lugh (https://goo.gl/XhLqYw) impregnating the womb of "Mother Earth" with a beam of brilliant sunlight for approximately 17 minutes -- was designed and built 500 years or so before "The Pyramid Age". (Dynasties III to VI, between 2686 B.C. and 2181 B.C.)

"Newgrange is not by any means the oldest of the Irish stone monuments. For example, there is another partly destroyed site approximately five miles or so from New Inn village in County Galway, known as the Cairn at Alloon (http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/heritage/local1.htm#CAIRN) which is believed to be in the region of 7,000 years old. This would make it 2,000 years older than the oldest of the great pyramids of Egypt. It appears that Galway County Council was responsible for the very serious damage caused at this particular site some years ago. Senior politicians in the Republic of Ireland have been informed regarding this matter, and additional information concerning this can be seen In the October 11th 2000 registered letters sent to former Republic of Ireland Prime Minister Bertie Ahern, and to former Republic of Ireland President and Trinity College Dublin law lecturer Mary McAleese referred at:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/chaplefinnerty/letters7/oct-11-2000.htm

There is also the related information sent by registered post on December 29th 2000 to former Republic of Ireland President Mary McAleese (and four other people) at:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/chaplefinnerty/letters3/dec-29-00.htm

"At one period in history the Winter Solstice event was celebrated by feasting and revelry which would go on for several days. This great feast became known as the Roman Winter Festival of SATURNALIA.

"The e-mail below (copy at http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/SATURNALIA/Dec_21st_2001.htm) was sent on December 21st 2001, approximately two hours after the "Newgrange Indicator" signalled that (in the "natural world") this year's "turning-point" had been crossed over.

"This particular e-mail of December 21st 2001 was sent in the hope that it might arouse some new thinking regarding certain very fundamental social issues in East County Galway (in the Republic of Ireland). As an addition to earlier correspondence on similar subjects, it raises major doubts, and major questions, concerning the level (and the quality) of PRACTICAL commitment in The Republic of Ireland to what may be two of the most important ingredients for building and sustaining a healthy human society: "local democracy", and "the rule of law".

"A third most important ingredient, that of a "well-informed electorate", also appears to be very badly lacking: in that the Republic of Ireland's MSM (Main Stream Media) seems to date to have remained remarkably silent regarding all or most of the crucially important social issues outlined below (and elsewhere on this and other closely related web sites of mine): even though it has been regularly kept informed about them over a lengthy period of time: which goes back to at least December 29th 2000.

"There is a considerable amount of historical evidence which suggests that the relatively recent Festival of Christmas may (in large part) be an adaptation of the ancient Roman Winter Festival of Saturnalia.

"One of a number of possible explanations for the present four-day delay between the Winter Solstice (on December 21st), and Christmas Day (on December 25th), is that people on mainland Europe around the time of Christ were possibly using detection methods for the "turning-point" which were considerably less accurate than the very finely tuned "Newgrange Indicator" in Ireland (built around 3100 B.C.). As a consequence, the people of Rome in very early Christian times would have had to allow some extra days to satisfy themselves that the turning-point really had been crossed.

Some may be interested to know that the word "Solstice" is derived from the two Roman words: "sol" meaning sun, and "sistere," to "cause to stand still" (i.e. zero rate of change): which is what appears to happen at the very tip of the "negative peak", and what makes the precise moment of the changeover very difficult (but not impossible) to detect.

===

"For many people living in the local area, one of the main highlights of the Christmas period in East Galway is The New Inn Mummers Festival. Information regarding this year's event (which takes place on January 5th and 6th 2002) can be seen on Page 14 of the December 14th 2001 edition of the Connacht Tribune Newspaper.

"As related in the newspaper article, The Festival Secretary is a person named Michael Finnerty. For as far back as available modern records are capable of indicating (which is the late 1700s in this case), it can be seen that the direct-in-line male ancestors of Michael have all lived right alongside the New Inn section of the ancient Esker Riada Highway, "An Slí Mór" ( https://goo.gl/avsUd2 ) in the Celtic language. Also, an examination of the more ancient historical works reveals that Michael's much earlier ancestors may have had close connections with the nearby "Turoe Stone" ( https://goo.gl/Di9ca1 ) area which go back as far as 1317 B.C.  Even more interesting though is the possibility that one particular ancient ancestor of his, named King Ollamh Fodhla ( https://goo.gl/QftuzF ), may have originated the historically famous "Feis-Teamhrach", The Great Feast of Tara ( https://goo.gl/Vnmf7e ), and given the Province of Ulster ( https://goo.gl/HjeAxQ ) its name. For further information please see: The Annals of Ireland by The Four Masters.

"There is reason to believe that the essential combination of ingredients required for the very colourful type of joyful leisure activities associated with The New Inn Mummers Festival would have come into existence as far back as 10,000 years ago. This "happening" represented a huge jump forward in the social development of human beings, and it is understood that there is DNA type evidence available apparently which suggests that some kind of physically significant (and lasting) change did actually take place in the human brain at around that period in history.

"Allowing for the contents of the paragraph immediately above, it is thought that the appearance in historical records of the Roman Winter Festival of Saturnalia probably represents a development-stage ONLY: involving the relatively recent period of around 400 B.C. The true origins of Winter-Solstice based celebrations are likely to go back much further. For additional information please see at "The New Inn Mummers Festival" www location provided below.

"It appears also that the significant 'jump forward' in human brain capacity which is believed to have occurred some 10,000 ago, was the last major improvement that the human brain has undergone; and, it is tempting to speculate that the next one, assuming (that is) that MOTHER NATURE has plans for any more, might be marked by the time in history when human society finds the necessary combination of ingredients to purge itself of all the skulduggery (or lack of integrity, rampant corruption, crime, cover-ups, bullying, impunity and whatever else is involved ???) which causes and sustains AVOIDABLE social problems of the kind outlined in the text of the e-mail dated December 21st 2001 referred to above (a copy of which can be viewed at the www address provided immediately below) ."

 "Totalitarianism
(or totalitarian rule) is a political system where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible."

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totalitarianism

"Constitutionalism   is descriptive of a complicated concept, deeply imbedded in historical experience, which subjects the officials who exercise governmental powers to the limitations of a higher law. Constitutionalism proclaims the desirability of the rule of law (based on constitutional law, and laws connected with the Charter of the United Nations, and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights for example)  as opposed to rule by the arbitrary judgment or mere fiat of public officials…. Throughout the literature dealing with modern public law and the foundations of statecraft the central element of the concept of constitutionalism is that in political society government officials are not free to do anything they please in any manner they choose; they are bound to observe both the limitations on power and the procedures which are set out in the supreme, constitutional law of the community. It may therefore be said that the touchstone of constitutionalism is the concept of limited government under a higher law."

Please note that, for technical reasons beyond my control, the dozen or so "Internet Hyperlinks" provided in the "Related Open News Topics" section below will appear as "dead text" in this "Indymedia (Ireland)" comment. However, the original "live working" versions of these hyperlinks can be found (and used) in the edition of the message-text at the www address provided above; and, they were included in this morning's e-mail to the United Nations because, between them, they seem (to me) to provide a pretty good indication/"feel" of just how MASSIVE, VARIED, WIDESPREAD, and DEEPLY ENTRENCHED, the global "government corruption, crime, cover-ups, bullying, and impunity" problem really is at the present time: and, most important of all perhaps, I think they also, as a set, supply a tangible "handle" (of sorts) on the very slimy, very extensive, and often very blurred "DENIAL (genuine and/or pretend) MINDSET PROBLEM", which continues to so powerfully, and frequently INVISIBLY, and often from "way behind the scenes", to "fuel and drive" the whole accelerating global phenomenon of "government corruption, crime, cover-ups, bullying, and impunity". Has anything really changed fundamentally among the arrogant/ignorant/stupid "ruling elites" (i.e. the "human tin-gods" who are trying to "play GOD" and making complete fools of themselves in the process), I often find myself asking myself, since the days (in the 1400s AD) of the "Borgias Pope Family" in Holy Rome: "The Original Crime Family of The Vatican", as they have been labelled by some?'

'A bit like other aspects of the universe itself perhaps, it may be that this particularly nasty MINDSET "type social problem" (as I see it), in very large part a human-brain "software problem" I suspect, which I have long viewed as a major threat for "humanity as a whole", and maybe even for the whole of "Life on Earth" possibly -- when and if the constantly-lurking risk, above and below the surface of the Earth (particularly in the oceans of our World), of "the makings" of a  "Hell on Earth" Thermonuclear World War Three   is taken into account -- is a problem that is half-invisibly expanding outwards (and inwards as well at the same time in its particular case!!) at something approaching the speed of light? Or at least the speed of sound perhaps, and with much of the credit for the "expansion in all directions" due to the bankster owned/controlled MSM (Main Stream Media).'
