Dear Gerry,
Thank you for your e-mail dated September 2nd 2008.
The "machine gun" incident with the police last Sunday (at
my Greencastle home) was indeed "deeply unsettling" for me,
as you have put it.
Among other things, it has left me with the feeling that the
Northern Ireland Police possibly believe the best way to
deal with the extremely serious set of closely related
issues I wrote to Prime Minister Brian Cowan TD (Republic of
Ireland) about on May 9th last, is to "
shoot the messenger".
The text of my letter dated May 9th 2008 to Prime Minister
Cowan TD can be viewed at:

.
Please note that scanned copies of the Post Office receipts
relating to this letter have also been added to the page at
the above Internet address.
All things considered, and with due regard for the fact that
I have so far heard nothing from Chief Inspector Michael
Winters (Omagh Police Station) regarding the reasons (from
his perspective) for last Sunday's "machine gun" interview,
I feel it is best for me to cancel the meeting you have
kindly offered me for 11 am this morning.
I've also decided that I now need to make a fresh start at
getting the medical help I need (relating to the
C-PTSD
and prostate
cancer
matters); and, that in order to set about
this process in an efficient manner, the first thing I need
to have is a written reply to the three questions I raised
with Dr Thomas Foster (Consultant Psychiatrist) in my letter
to him dated August 11th 2008.
A copy of the text of the letter in question, together with
scanned copies of the associated Post Office receipts, can
be viewed at
http://www.humanrightsireland.com/DrThomasFoster/11August2008/Letter.htm
.
Up to the time I left my home in Greencastle last Monday (at
11.30 am), please note that I had not received any reply
from Dr Foster.
As I have no plans to return to my home in Greencastle --
while the very clearly and stridently stated threat of the
police to arrest me is extant -- please note there is no
point in writing to me at my Greencastle address.
Consequently, I would be very grateful if you (or Dr Foster)
could please e-mail me the answers to the three questions as
soon as you reasonably can.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
For future reference purposes, I intend to place a copy of
this e-mail at the following address later today:

Best wishes,
William (Finnerty).
