"Criminal matters"

It was
criminal matters I had in mind in fact, such as those
outlined (for
Prime Minister Cowen TD on May 9th last)
at
http://www.humanrightsireland.com/PrimeMinisterCowen/9May2008/Email.htm
for example.
How does the
EJC (European Court of
Justice I assume you mean) deal with such matters - as raised
by
Mr Ashley Mote MEP in the
European
Parliament?

Backwards
into tyranny (For Sceptic at Sun Aug 03, 2008 15:38
above)by EU Source Sun Aug 03, 2008
17:44 "Everything to do with its
competence or powers is legally based and it has its own
supreme court (the ECJ) to determine issues based entirely on
the rule of law and nothing else."
Yes, and it uses a
"Trial by Judges" arrangement - and not a "Trial by Jury"
one.
Personally, I cannot think of anything more
supportive of corruption and tyranny than a legal system which
operates exclusively on "Trial by Judges".
People were
well aware of this fact as far back as the 1200s at least -
and hence the Magna Carte (issued in 1215 AD), which (in part)
is still in use of course in the Republic of Ireland, though
nowhere nearly as much as some (including myself) would like
it to be.
It's backwards into the depths of tyranny the
European Union is heading at the present time.
"Rebellion to tyrants is
obedience to God." (Thomas Jefferson, Principle Author
of the American Declaration of Independence.)

Lawfully
resisting the corruption and tyrannyby Democrat
Sun Aug 03, 2008 18:53 It seems
to me the people of
Usk (County Kildare, Republic of
Ireland) badly need to have their case heard before a jury.
"For more than six hundred years --- that is, since
Magna Carta, in 1215 --- there has been no clearer principle
of English or American constitutional law, than that, in
criminal cases, it is not only the right and duty of juries to
judge what are the facts, what is the law, and what was the
moral intent of the accused; but that it is also their right,
and their primary and paramount duty, to judge of the justice
of the law, and to hold all laws invalid, that are, in their
opinion, unjust or oppressive, and all persons guiltless in
violating, or resisting the execution of, such laws." (From
