Dear William
Thank you for
your letter dated 31st January and
kind words following my meeting with you at our centre on January
30th 2008.
I spoke to Gerry madden Senior Social Worker on Monday 5th February
and he had received your email regarding our contact.
I also received a copy of your
letter dated 2nd February addressed to Dr
McCavert, GP. I note in this letter you
are now considering your physical health problem, and this
highlighted the importance for you to address practical issues in
your life, including the necessity for you to visit your home in Co
Galway.
I believe the approach you outline is a sensible way forward at this
stage.
In your letter you feel you would not benefit from formal treatment
for trauma related issues at this time until your other concerns
i.e. the legal problems and now your physical health are dealt with
and again this seems like the best way forward for now. Like
you the clinical team at the centre take the view that psychological
treatment would not be helpful to you at this time given your other
priorities as mentioned above.
If however your circumstances change in the future please do not
hesitate to contact our service. In the meantime, I wish you
well, as you address the issues you have now decided to deal with.
In my conversation with Gerry Madden, he plans to contact you
shortly to offer you continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Geraldine Kerr.
Patient Services Liaison Officer.
Cc Gerry Madden.
