When Erin´s fields were green.

Ah! Life´s a weary puzzle,
Past finding out by man,
I´ll take the day for what it´s worth
And do the best I can.
Since no one cares a rush for me
What need is there to moan,
I´ll go my way and draw my pay
And smoke my pipe alone
Each human heart must bear its grief
Though bitter be the `bode
So God be with you, Ireland,
And the Old Bog Road

Devil Woman - Don McLean
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzU64Wxh54U
Devil Woman is a 1962 country single written and performed
by
Marty Robbins. "Devil Woman" became Marty Robbins' seventh single to
reach number one on the country chart, spending eight weeks at the top
spot.[1]
"Devil Woman" also crossed over onto the pop chart, peaking at number
sixteen.[2]
This same version of the song was also recorded by
Trini Lopez for his 1968 album
Welcome to Trini Country.
The song is told from the point of a view of a man
jinxed from
an encounter with a stray cat with
evil
eyes, and his discovery that the
psychic
medium (a
Gypsy woman) whose help he sought to break the
curse was
the one responsible for the curse in the first place.

Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale, live in Denmark 2006
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=St6jyEFe5WM
We skipped the light fandango,
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor;
I was feeling kinda seasick,
But the crowd called out for more.
The room was humming harder,
As the ceiling flew away;
When we called out for another drink,
The waiter brought a tray ...
And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed
She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died
If music be the food of love
[see note, left, about this verse
+ its opening]
then laughter is its queen
and likewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
and attacked the ocean bed

appearances as a guest conductor later in his career in Europe and the
United States. One of these appearances was at the inaugural concert of
Carnegie Hall in
New York City in 1891. Tchaikovsky was honored in 1884 by

Celtic Woman - Ave Maria
Ave Maria (Schubert)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
" Ellens dritter Gesang" (" Ellens
Gesang III",
D. 839,
Op. 52, No. 6, 1825), in English: " Ellen's Third Song",
was composed by
Franz Schubert in 1825 as part of his Opus 52, a setting of
seven songs from
Walter Scott's popular epic poem
The Lady of the Lake, loosely translated into German.
It has become one of Schubert's most popular works, recorded by
a wide variety and large number of singers, under the title of
Ave Maria, in arrangements with various lyrics which
commonly differ from the original context of the poem. It was
arranged in
three versions for piano by
Franz Liszt.

This blessed harvest morn,
But oh! the ache that´s in my heart
For the spot where I was born.
My weary hands are blistered
Through work in cold and heat!
And oh! to swing a scythe once more
Through a field of Irish wheat.
Had I the chance to wander back,
Or own a king´s abode.
I´d sooner see the hawthorn tree
By the Old Bog Road.

I wish as many people as possible to know that
Minister for Justice Michael McDowell TD, together with the Director for
Public Prosecutions, Mr James Hamilton, are playing the lead roles in
the ongoing human rights abuse and bullying referred to in last
Tuesday's e-mail text, reproduced below, to the BullyOnLine Yahoo Group
(which has been copied to the European Court of Human Rights); and, that
despite numerous attempts by senior social worker Mr Gerard Madden
(based in Northern Ireland) to get a response from him, Minister
McDowell continues to completely ignore the letter sent to him at the
following address (dated November 7th 2005):
http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/Constitution/GerardMadden7November2005/Letter.htm
Put simply, it appears that neither Minister for Justice McDowell TD,
nor the Director for Public Prosecutions Mr James Hamilton, have any
regard whatsoever for human rights law as far as my particular case is
concerned; and, that they are still being allowed to blatantly and
unlawfully carry on violating human rights law in my particular case
even though the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights
in Strasbourg have been informed about my situation on several occasions
during the past few years.

Many of the ancient monuments
mentioned in "Turoe & Athenry: Ancient Capitals of Celtic Ireland" have
already been completely destroyed. These include the one described on
Page 41 of the book as: "A vast stadium-like embanked enclosure" which
"was recently bulldozed into oblivion to make way for the Third
Millennium!!". As well as being one of the easiest for members of the
public to see, it was also one of the most interesting (and least
understood). Before-and-after pictures of this destroyed monument, which
was possibly destroyed with the use of a government grant, can be seen

The Ascent of Humanity
"More than any other species, human beings are gifted with

More than any other species, human beings are gifted
with the power to manipulate their environment and the
ability to accumulate and transmit knowledge across
generations. The first of these gifts we call
technology;
the other we call culture. They are central to our
humanity.
Accumulating
foreseeable risk, but an underlying disquiet remains. I
am
referring simply to the feeling,
“Something is wrong
around here.”
Something so fundamentally wrong that
centuries of our best and brightest efforts to create a
better
world have failed or even backfired. As this realization
sinks in, we respond with despair, cynicism, numbness,
or
detachment.
Yet no matter

Vietnam War, in which he had participated as an infantry soldier.
Many of Stone's films focus on contemporary and controversial American
political and cultural issues, such as
JFK,
Natural Born Killers, and
Nixon.

The film was well received among major film critics, including
Roger Ebert. Douglas won the
Academy Award for Best Actor, and the film has come to be seen as
the
archetypal portrayal of 1980s excess, with Douglas's character
memorably declaring that "greed
is good." It has also proven influential in inspiring people to
work on Wall Street with Sheen, Douglas, and Stone commenting over the
years how people still approach them and say that they became
stockbrokers because of their respective characters in the film.

In circumstances whereby the legal profession and the medical
profession are completely unwilling (it seems to me) to help people
(such as myself) who are suffering from major C-PTSD and financial
injuries caused by government bullying, I have recently been looking at
ideas investigated by Dr Carl Jung and Dr Sigmund Freud, who both,
before their deaths, seriously explored the area of "psychodynamics":
with some very useful practical results it would seem.
For anybody interested, there is some further information relating to
this available via the following www link:

"The song was written in the 1800s by a local schoolteacher and
poet named
Watt Murphy, who met and gradually fell in love with a local girl
called Elizabeth, also known as Molly. Elizabeth was just 20 years old,
and Watt was then 56, but the difference in age was of no consequence to
either of them. Both were
intellectuals, and they would often stroll along the banks of the
river Suir, composing and reciting poetry. However, Elizabeth's
father, who was the local
vicar,
did not approve of their relationship, and she was sent away to
England.
Watt was brokenhearted at the loss of his beloved lady, and wrote this
song in her memory." |

Now we're old and grey Fernando,
And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand.
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land. |

Now we're old and grey Fernando,
And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your

Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio
Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land.

"Fernando"
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
I remember long ago another starry night like this
In the firelight Fernando
You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar
I could hear the distant drums
And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar
They were closer now Fernando
Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally
I was so afraid Fernando
We were young and full of life and none of us prepared to die
And I'm not ashamed to say
The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
Now we're old and grey Fernando
And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
Yes, if I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando...

And now we are aged and grey, Maggie
The trials of life nearly done
Let us sing of the days that are gone, Maggie
When you and I were young.

Foster and Allen - Maggie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4jVfRLtzlU
I wandered today to the hill, Maggie
To watch the scene below
The creek and the rusty old mill, Maggie
Where we sat in the long, long ago.
The green grove is gone from the hill, Maggie
Where first the daisies sprung
The old rusty mill is still, Maggie
Since you and I were young.
A city so silent and lone, Maggie
Where the young and the gay and the best
In polished white mansion of stone, Maggie
Have each found a place of rest
Is built where the birds used to play, Maggie
And join in the songs that were sung
For we sang just as gay as they, Maggie
When you and I were young.
They say I am feeble with age, Maggie
My steps are less sprightly than then
My face is a well written page, Maggie
But time alone was the pen.
They say we are aged and grey, Maggie
As spray by the white breakers flung
But to me you're as fair as you were, Maggie
When you and I were young.
And now we are aged and grey, Maggie
The trials of life nearly done
Let us sing of the days that are gone, Maggie
When you and I were young.
